About The Position

SSM Rehabilitation Hospital, a joint venture with Select Medical & SSM, is seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) for a Part-Time (Per Diem) position in Lake Saint Louis. This role ideally involves working Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The hospital's mission is to provide an exceptional patient care experience that promotes healing and recovery in a compassionate environment. The Recreational Therapist will provide advanced treatment and comprehensive care to address the medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges for individuals with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) OR National certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required to start

Responsibilities

Plans and implements appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital and the profession.
Responsible for provision of therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload.
Ensures all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provides hospital wide leisure, social and divergent programs.
Serves as an educator to patients on community resources.
