About The Position
West Gables Rehab Hospital is seeking a full-time Recreational Therapist for their Inpatient Rehab unit in Miami, Florida. This role involves planning and implementing recreation activities for patients, providing therapeutic recreation intervention, orienting patients to recreation therapy, and offering hospital-wide leisure, social, and divergent programs. The Recreational Therapist will also serve as an educator to patients on community resources.
Requirements
- Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
- Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements appropriate recreation activities for patients in accordance with guidelines set by the organization, hospital and the profession.
- Responsible for provision of therapeutic recreation intervention for an assigned caseload.
- Ensures all patients are oriented to recreation therapy and provides hospital wide leisure, social and divergent programs.
- Serves as an educator to patients on community resources.
