Recreational Therapist (NCTRC/CTRS)
About The Position
AvaMed Inc is seeking a Certified Recreational Therapist (NCTRC/CTRS) for a Full-Time assignment at a correctional facility in Chino, CA. The role involves developing and implementing specialized recreation therapy services for Patient-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth. These services aim to promote social interaction, encourage appropriate use of leisure time, and prepare individuals for reentry into the general population or other treatment levels. The therapist will also participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) and coordinate services with other facility staff.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement specialized recreation therapy services to CDCR Patient-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth.
- Promote social interaction, encourage beneficial and appropriate utilization of leisure time, and provide Patient-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth with preparation for reentry into general population or other levels of treatment.
- Participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT).
- Coordinate services with primary clinicians, correctional counselors, and other custody personnel.
- Evaluate recreation therapy needs for Patients-Inmates and/or DJJ Youth with particular attention to activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and positive coping strategies.
