Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire)
• Washington Recreational Therapist Registration (Upon hire)
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) (Upon hire)

Nice To Haves

• 2 years providing recreation with the elderly or disabled.

Responsibilities

• Provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for participants.
• Conducts individual assessment to identify the participants' individual interests/needs.
• Develops and implements an appropriate variety of individual and group activities.
• Participates in interdisciplinary care planning.
• Coordinates the recreation documentation for her/his assigned group of participants.
• Assists with training and supervising assigned volunteers and/or youth job program assistants/student interns and their activities.
• Leads facility-wide participant-centered events.
