Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • Washington Recreational Therapist Registration upon hire.
  • National Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist - National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification upon hire

  • 2 years providing recreation with the elderly or disabled

Responsibilities

  • Provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for participants.
  • Conducts individual assessment to identify the participants' individual interests/needs.
  • Develops and implements an appropriate variety of individual and group activities.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Coordinates the recreation documentation for her/his assigned group of participants.
  • Assists with training and supervising assigned volunteers.
