Recreational Therapist/Activities Director
About The Position
SSM Health Rehabilitation Hospital - Neuro Transitional Center in O'Fallon, MO is seeking a Recreational Therapist/Activities Director for their Neuro Transitional Rehabilitation Center, opening mid 1st quarter of 2025. This center has 12 beds and is designed to provide intensive rehabilitation to individuals with an acquired brain injury or spinal cord injury who are unable to safely return home due to the severity of their impairments. Currently, 93% of patients return to their homes at discharge from NTC. This role offers the opportunity to change lives and provide a high level of service to Missourians.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required.
- Current national certification from NCTRC as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required.
- Current State Driver’s License in good standing required.
- Certified experience in a medical setting required.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements appropriate community integration activities and leisure and functional structured activities according to patient needs within the facility.
- May transport patient on community outings.
- Completes electronic medical record documentation.
- Coordinates with rehab manager regarding weekend activities.
- Participates in team conferences collaborating with the transdisciplinary team.
