About The Position

Seattle Gymnastics Academy (SGA) operates programs under three categories: Play, Learn, and Compete. Our Recreational classes, under the Learn umbrella, are central to our mission of teaching strength, skill, and character through gymnastics. As a Recreational Coach, you will help children of all ages, genders, and abilities discover their strength and confidence. SGA offers a supportive training program, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a fun and dynamic environment. This role is ideal for those looking to move away from desk jobs, hospitality, or retail, seeking more fulfillment and job stability. Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • A desire to promote a positive learning environment for every child.
  • Responsibility, reliability, consistency, and the ability to lead by example.
  • Enthusiasm for working with kids with a safe, positive, and engaging demeanor.
  • Desire to work as part of an energetic team unified in the company's mission, vision, and values.
  • Effective communication with children and adults.
  • Comfort with various noise levels; the facility can be active.
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces on the gymnastics floor.
  • Desire to grow within the organization.
  • Must have week and weekend availability.
  • Ability to spot students.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a gymnast.
  • Basic knowledge or experience in gymnastics.
  • Experience working with a gym or kid-friendly environment.
  • Experience working in a high-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Previous experience working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching progressive gymnastics classes in departments such as Preschool, Recreational, and Trampoline & Tumbling.
  • Creating purposeful lesson plans aligned with skill charts per level, utilizing provided resources and continuous training.
  • Maintaining consistency in attendance for class schedules.
  • Tracking skill development and communicating with parents about their child’s progression through face-to-face chats and online platform updates.
  • Participating in paid training opportunities, including SGA University courses, USA Gymnastics clinics, and sessions with in-house trainers.
  • Assisting with light cleaning duties to maintain the facility.
