Position Summary: The Recreation Therapist Supervisor is responsible for developing, planning and managing all recreational activities that aid in improving the physical, cognitive, emotional and social functioning of patients ranging from adolescents through geriatric. Activities will involve working closely with patients and treatment team professionals in providing individual and group-based interventions to address therapeutic treatment goals for patients. This position is a full-time position 40 hours per week, however, from time to time as needed, be available to work anytime including Saturday and Sunday. Directly supervises the recreational therapy employees. This position is responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience in providing recreational programming in mental health preferred.
  • Must have licensure in specialty, which can include current CTRS, art therapy or music therapy license.
  • Must maintain a valid Nevada driver's license.
  • BLS and Handle with Care certifications required to be maintained for full length of employment.
