About The Position

Masonicare at Greenridge Place in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking a Recreation Therapy Aide for a Day & Evening Shift, 16 hours per week. The role involves developing and implementing a variety of recreation programs and services for residents that are socially, physically, and cognitively stimulating.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Pushing/pulling wheelchairs
Climbing ladder (i.e.: decorating)
Using push carts for decorations or supplies
Extensive standing/walking
Working under quarantine
Universal precautions
Occasional long hours
Ongoing exposure to resident behaviors

Responsibilities

Create and implement activity plans for residents, in the way of small groups, special events and entertainment.
Motivate residents for participation in either planned groups or on a one-to-one basis.
Modify programs to meet the individual needs of residents.
Encourage resident participation and provide escort if necessary.
Maintain participation logs for programs.
Attend meetings as required.
Participate in educational programs and in-services as mandated.
Plan and/or accompany residents on out trips.
Understand and follow universal precautions and MSDS books.
Review evaluations on new residents completed by Manager Recreation.
