About The Position

Well Spring, A Life Plan Community, is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Recreation Therapist to join our Assisted Living team. In this role, you will create meaningful therapeutic recreation programs that promote residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being while helping them maintain the highest possible quality of life. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field required.
Current CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) certification required.
At least one year of experience in therapeutic recreation, senior living, or a related recreation field is required.
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills.
Valid North Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to transport residents safely during community outings.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Assess residents' leisure interests, abilities, and needs to develop meaningful therapeutic recreation programs.
Plan and lead engaging group and individual activities that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being.
Develop and maintain monthly activity calendars and coordinate special events.
Document resident assessments, participation, and progress in the electronic medical record.
Encourage resident participation while building meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
Provide one-on-one visits and activities for residents who are unable or choose not to attend group programs.
Transport residents to activities and community outings as needed.
Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to support resident care plans.
Supervise Recreation Therapy interns and provide guidance throughout their clinical experience.
Assist with activity supplies, program spaces, and volunteer coordination.
