About The Position

The Rehabilitation Specialist/Therapist is responsible for establishing, coordinating, organizing, and implementing a balanced rehabilitation therapy program based on the specific ages, needs, and treatment issues of the patients served. Responsible to make professional decisions to ensure patient safety during rehabilitation therapy and experiential therapy groups. Includes knowledge of, and proper use and maintenance of, rehabilitation and experiential equipment and the purchasing of supplies. Also, responsible to maintain knowledge of current inventory and professional trends and to maintain national level professional certification or state level registration.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, Bachelor’s or Master’s in Occupational therapy, Recreational therapy, Art therapy, Expressive therapy, or Rehabilitation.
  • Licensure, certification, or registration in area of specialty by a recognized state or local body.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR certification.
  • CTRS UPON HIRE.
  • General knowledge of human behaviors, abnormal and developmental psychology.
  • Knowledgeable regarding care of mental health patients.
  • Must demonstrate competency in listed major duties and responsibilities of job description.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • 1-3 years in area of expertise.
