About The Position
The Recreation Technician (Rec Tech) is a part-time, non-exempt position within the Community Center. This role involves opening and closing the Center, assisting with the organization and execution of recreational programs, maintaining the facility's appearance and cleanliness, managing statistical records, supporting special events, and serving as on-site contact staff for facility rentals. The position operates under the supervision of the Community Center Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must work well with all ages
- Obtain First Aid/CPR certificate within six months after hire date
- Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office Suite
- Oral communication/interpersonal skills necessary to be courteous of fellow employees and participants while performing duties
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail
- Must be able to pass a drug screen, criminal background check, and credit check
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Responsibilities
- Opens and/or closes the Center
- Helps organize and works new and existing recreational programs for the community
- Maintains the general appearance of the facility and fulfills all custodial needs while on site
- Maintains statistical records and reports
- Works as contact staff on site to accommodate rental needs
- Performs other duties as requested by the Community Center Manager
