About The Position

Under the general direction of the Recreation Manager, the Recreation Supervisor-Facility Rentals & Programs plans, coordinates, and supervises state licensed camp, senior programs, facility rentals, and general recreation programs. This position manages and supervises part-time and seasonal staff. Provides support to the coordination of special events for the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • 3 years of experience in recreation, leisure activities and facility scheduling.
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, or ability to obtain within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and supervises workforce based on organizational goals, budget considerations, and staffing needs by using sound judgment and appropriately delegating and monitoring performance against predetermined standards and holding staff accountable for meeting day-to-day expectations.
  • In cooperation with department leadership and HRRM, hires, trains, oversees scheduling, conducts performance evaluations, and handles employee relations issues.
  • Supervises program registration by establishing protocols and registration times. Inputs program registration and events data into registration and facility software to ensure accurate and up-to-date information; maintains program revenue and attendance records.
  • Creates, coordinates, and distributes promotional flyers and information for programs and special events; assists with social media promotion with the authorization and under the direction of the Recreation Manager.
  • Coordinates with the local school district regarding scheduling of school sites, athletic facilities, gymnasiums, and fields for recreation programs or events.
  • Review work-provided credit card. Gather documentation and allocate all charges to the appropriate account(s); provide documentation to the Finance Department for audits when requested.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with community partners to promote programs and meets community needs. Solicits sponsorships and outside funding for special events and recreational programs.
  • Assists Recreation Manager, coordinates with the second Recreation Supervisor, supervises part-time and seasonal staff positions for Rentals, Day Camp, and Recreation Instructors, including scheduling, creating expectations and standard operating procedures.
  • Schedules and organizes facility bookings, City staff sponsored meetings, events, and recreation programs at the Evans Community Complex and Riverside Library & Cultural Center.
  • Meets with customers regarding facility rentals. Conducts facility tours, processes facility rental agreements, and coordinates collection of rental deposits, payments and refunds as necessary.
  • Coordinates facility set-ups, room arrangements, and special needs with facility staff to ensure requirements and specifications are met.
  • Development and implementation of State licensed day camp program. Complies with State standards to ensure proper training of all staff and safeguard accurate documentation for staff and children.
  • Oversees senior lunch program and ensures compliance with all Weld County and State Health Department requirements.
  • Development and implementation of senior, fitness, and general recreation programming.
