This role will coordinate activities of paid and volunteer recreation service personnel in community centers, playgrounds, and other recreation facilities. Requirements

  • Two years of related experience and/or training
  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid state issued driver's license
  • CPR certification
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word or similar software

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid certification
  • Certified Park and Recreation (CPRP) Professional

Responsibilities

  • Develops and promotes recreation programs, including music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural arts, nature study, swimming, social recreation and games, and camping.
  • Adapts recreation programs to meet needs of the department and the community.
  • Introduces new program activities, equipment, and materials to staff.
  • Interprets recreation service to public and participates in community meetings and organizational planning.
  • Works with other recreation personnel to ensure that recreation is well balanced, coordinated, and integrated.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
