About The Position
Laurel Hills Community Center is seeking Recreation Leaders to serve as the first point of contact for guests, process transactions, and respond to inquiries about the park and its programs. Recreation Leaders will assist the Facility Director and Assistant Director in the overall management and operation of the facility and recreation programs. This role is considered essential staff and may involve supervising a facility in the absence of full-time staff. Both daytime and evening positions are available. Upon hiring, employees will receive extensive training, including Safety, First Aid/CPR, and Fire Safety. Join our team and help build community through recreation!
Requirements
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to move around and lift at least 30 lbs.
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a customer service or recreation setting is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and/or direct daily program and staff activities.
- Provide outstanding customer service when assisting the public through various communication methods.
- Familiarize and promote facility and city programs.
- Develop and distribute promotional and marketing information.
- Create activity schedules and prepare attendance reports.
- Register patrons and collect fees through City policies and procedures.
- Supervise check in/check out procedures of programs.
- Provide feedback regarding program goals and objectives.
- Responsible for program registrations, facility and shelter rentals.
- Maintain records using Excel, Word and Publisher, Rec Trac Software and general filing.
- Set up and break down programs and activities.
- Help maintain and spot clean as needed.
