About The Position

Responsible for accurately recording and maintaining game scores, player statistics, fouls, timeouts, and game clock operation. Works closely with referees to ensure the scoreboard and official records are correct throughout the game. Under basic supervision, oversees and leads a variety of recreation programs and events; performs a variety of tasks in support of the assigned area and program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Up to 1 year of experience in recreation programs or working with children
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Knowledge of recreation site safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of methods of program planning and implementation.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to assess, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks and demands simultaneously.
  • Ability to administer basic first aid.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with referees to ensure the scoreboard and official records are correct throughout the game.
  • Supervise and lead day-to-day operations of assigned recreation programs and activities.
  • Assemble necessary supplies for each activity.
  • Take attendance for assigned group and records names of participants who are not in attendance; calls participants or parents to verify absences as necessary.
  • Oversee, lead, and assist with various activities.
  • Observe participants during program.
  • Enforce rules and safety procedures.
  • Implement disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Participate in facility or venue set-up, clean-up, and sanitation.
  • Support the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of work-related issues and County information.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
