About The Position

Under basic supervision, oversees and leads a variety of fitness programs and events; performs a variety of tasks in support of the assigned area and program. This position will lead and supervise youth tennis lessons, develop fundamental tennis skills tailored to each age group, including hand-eye coordination, serving, and short rallies, and ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for all players.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Up to 1 year of experience in recreation programs or working with children
  • Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Group Fitness Certifications through ACE, ACSM or similar certifying organization.
  • Knowledge of recreation site safety rules and regulations.
  • Follows proper procedures for safety protocols.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming studio space for group fitness classes.
  • Knowledge of methods of program planning and implementation keeping in mind that all classes will be open to all abilities from beginner to expert.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of conflict resolution and problem solving.
  • Provides correct exercise modifications to diverse ability levels in all classes.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers and other individuals in contact during the course of work; communicating clearly and concisely.
  • Assessing, prioritizing, and completing multiple tasks and demands simultaneously.
  • Administering basic first aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and leads the day-to-day fitness class operations, programs and activities allowing plenty of time to build client relations.
  • Arrives early to prepare for fitness class equipment distribution for each class.
  • Takes attendance for assigned fitness classes including the number of participants and keeping track of program roster if applicable.
  • Oversees, leads, and assists with various fitness related activities; observes participants during program; enforces rules and safety procedures; implements disciplinary actions as necessary.
  • Participates in facility or venue set-up, clean-up, and sanitation.
  • Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
