About The Position

The Recreation Director develops, plans, organizes, and directs activity and recreation programs in accordance with current state and federal guidelines and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. Programs are designed around each resident’s comprehensive assessment, interests, and physical, mental, spiritual, and psychosocial well-being. The organization emphasizes person-centered care, teamwork, respect, appreciation, integrity, communication, and collaboration.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience working with adults in a healthcare setting while delivering activity therapy.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Valid driver’s license, clear DMV record, and eligibility for coverage under the company’s insurance policy.
Sufficient ability to read, write, and speak English to perform the essential functions of the job.
Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws, regulations, and guidelines related to long-term care.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college.
Certification or training in therapeutic recreation.
Supervisory experience.
Previous experience in a skilled nursing environment.
