About The Position

The Recreation Coordinator will provide activities of a physical, mental and spiritual nature tailored to the individual abilities, needs and desires of those we serve in order to enable them to enjoy the highest quality of life. Parker at Monroe nursing care residence is a pioneer in the field of aging services, providing nursing and memory care services to individuals with all stages of dementias, who may also have complex physical needs. The campus consists of six “small homes”; sixteen elders with similar needs reside in each small home. The homes and programs are designed to promote independence, dignity, and a sense of community among our elders and their care partners. As an Eden Alternative® registered home, Parker transforms long-term care environments into person-centered communities that offer varied and meaningful activities.

Requirements

Current driver’s license in good standing required.
Flu vaccine required during flu season

Nice To Haves

B.A. or B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation, Creative Arts Therapy or in related field preferred; be certified or eligible for certification as an Activity Director Certified - ADC within (1) one year.
Minimum two years’ experience in long term care and/or dementia care preferred.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement may be required within six months of employment.
