About The Position

As a Recreation Attendant, you are responsible for providing warm, engaging, and authentically local personalized service to all guests who utilize the facilities at the Beach and Pool. You will actively engage with guests and assist in all their needs, which may include issuing towels, chaise lounge covers, assisting with chaise lounge set-up, cabana set-up, distributing snorkel gear, surfboards, boogie boards, floatation devices, and kayaks, and providing instruction for proper usage of equipment. You will also be responsible for picking up and removing used towels and debris from the beach and pool deck areas throughout the day. The role involves providing unique experiences to guests through warm, personal, and detailed service in a luxury, upscale, and fast-paced environment. You will ensure a positive first impression of the beach and pool through detailed cleanliness, set-up, and ambiance control. You will maintain complete knowledge of all wellness & recreation services, activities, amenities, and hotel services/features, and up-sell and promote wellness & recreation offers to maximize sales revenue. Additionally, you will perform opening/closing side duties as assigned and set the beach & pool according to standards and procedures, be well-versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures, and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times. Other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel will also be part of your responsibilities.

Requirements

Ability to share Hawaiian culture, stories, and lifestyle with guests in an engaging manner
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
Detailed & service-oriented with an eye for detail, to be self-motivated and energetic.
Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Recreation (Tuberculosis Clearance)
Valid Driver’s License
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage (‘Olelo Hawai’i)
Additional certification(s) in Recreation will be an advantage (Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, AED)

Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management of the Hotel
