About The Position

Reporting to the Recreational Therapist the Recreation Assistant will assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of recreation and leisure programs to meet the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs and interests of the residents. The Recreation Assistant works collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote resident awareness and participation in programs and opportunities and support recreation & leisure programming for the residents. This position will: Model the organizations' mission, vision, and values, consistently representing Covenant professionally and positively. Collaborate effectively as a professional team player, supporting the achievement of Covenant’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

Therapeutic Recreation Diploma / Degree required
Possess a valid Class 4 driver's license is required or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire
Ability to maintain good working relations with staff, public and outside agencies
Flexibility with changes in the organization and maintain a positive outlook
Valid/current First Aid and CPR
All employees new to Covenant Care must provide a criminal record check not older than 3 months ahead of your commencement date.

Nice To Haves

Two (2) years of Therapeutic Recreation experience preferred

Responsibilities
