About The Position
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is seeking creative and energetic Afterschool Counselors to support the afterschool program for school-aged youth. During the school year, this position will assist with afterschool programs, School’s Out Day programs, and other various youth programs. This supplemental position is normally scheduled Monday - Friday typically between the hours of 2:30PM and 6:00PM; with the potential for other hours based on programming needs.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 17 years of age
- Applicants must have CPR and First Aid certification or be able to obtain within 6 months. Training will be provided if necessary.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with children is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Preparing supplies and equipment for use during the program
- Monitoring participants to ensure safety and compliance with established procedures
- Communicating effectively with program participants and parents
- Other duties as assigned may be required
