About The Position

The Recreation and Conservation Advisor 2 position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources offers a chance to support the protection of natural lands across Pennsylvania. Requirements

  • One year as a Recreation and Conservation Advisor 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Two years of professional experience in parks, recreation, or natural resource conservation administration, planning, or development
  • A bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation, landscape architecture, environmental sciences, city, regional, urban, or environmental planning, or a closely related field
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Meet the PA residency requirement
  • Be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Oversee recreation and conservation acquisition projects and provide updates to applicants and grantees
  • Evaluate applications, review project costs, and recommend appropriate funding levels
  • Analyze deeds, surveys, appraisals, and maps to determine accuracy, value, and eligibility
  • Provide guidance to applicants, grantees, and organizations through calls, email, and meetings
  • Support updates to grant manuals, forms, and program policies to improve project management
  • Meet with officials, organizations, and the public to discuss projects and address concerns
