About The Position

North Westchester Restorative Therapy and Nursing is hiring for a Full-time Recreation Aide. This role involves engaging residents in activities and requires reliability, a fun and engaging personality, and long-term care experience. The ideal candidate will be upbeat, energetic, and possess a caring personality, with the ability to work effectively as a team player.

Requirements

• Reliable, fun, and engaging for Resident activities.
• Long term care experience.
• Upbeat, energetic, and have a caring personality.
• Must work as a team player.
• A high school diploma.
• Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
• Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent resource management and record-keeping.
• Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Musical/ Artistic talent is a plus.
• Preferred two years’ experience in recreation in a geriatric setting.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Certain certifications may be required.
• More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related may be preferred.
• Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc.
• Demonstrates good listening and communication skills and follow through.

Responsibilities

• Engage residents in activities.
• Supervise activities and special events for residents.
• Create programs to get residents involved and excited.
• Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
