About The Position

The Care Group (TCG) offers high-quality residential care services to complex care clients in nine (9) homes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. We are looking for a Casual Recreation Aide to join our The Mayfair Senior Living + Care in Abbotsford, B.C. Requirements

Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program
Basic First Aid Certificate (Current).
Food Safe Course or equivalent (Current)

Nice To Haves

Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department an asset.

Responsibilities

Carries out established recreation programs such as outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc.
Assists residents to and from programs as required.
Assists encourage and motivates residents/tenants to participate and provide personal care during recreational activities as required.
Observes, reports, and documents any changes, in residents, to the supervisor and/or nurse.
Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor.
Actively participates in C.Q.I. program, meetings, committees and educational in-services as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records.
Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants.
