About The Position

Assists with the preparation, implementation and monitoring of community recreation programs including instructional, enrichment, social, cultural arts, wellness, and special interest programming as well as facility rentals and community events. Work is performed under close supervision with minimum latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Some experience in recreation.
• First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External (AED) certifications within three (3) months of hire.
• National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment.
• Valid Florida Driver's license with a satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
• Must be able to perform each of the established essential functions.
• Attach proof of education.
• Sign an affidavit for non-use of tobacco products.
• Submit a copy of separation papers (DD214), Veterans’ Preference Certification form and meet eligibility requirements as stipulated by the Florida Statutes to obtain veteran's preference.
