About The Position

The Village of Wentworth Heights has an exciting opportunity for a Recreation Team Member to join their team. This is a permanent part-time position with a minimum of 28 hours bi-weekly, including alternate weekends. The hiring rate for this role is $18.76 per collective agreement/employee association agreement. Requirements

  • Hold a diploma or degree recreation/leisure studies and/or gerontology from a community college or university
  • Skills Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to support a holistic recreational program
  • Experience facilitating group activities and programs
  • Proficiency documenting residents’ participation, engagement and holistic wellbeing in programs and 1:1 activities
  • Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
  • Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of customer service to our residents
  • Knowledge of the five domains in Therapeutic Recreation that contribute to an individual’s health
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods, techniques and opportunities to improve resident’s well-being and holistic health

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team supporting residents in our village
  • Work every other weekend
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
