Recreation Aide (Full-Time)
About The Position
Sutton Park Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is hiring for a Full-Time Recreation Aide. This role requires an upbeat, energetic, and caring individual who is reliable and a team player. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing, warm, and caring personality with the ability to create engaging programs for residents. Dependability, reliability, and the ability to supervise activities and special events are essential. Creative talents in areas such as art, music, readings, or dance are a plus. The role demands good listening and communication skills with the ability to follow through.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands
- Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills
- Excellent resource management and record-keeping
- Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds
- Flexibility to work when needed, especially some evenings, weekends and holidays
Nice To Haves
- Two years’ experience in recreation in a geriatric setting
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- More education or experience with nursing homes, short-term rehabilitation, recreational activities, event planning, or related
- Creative talents in one or more areas such as art, music, readings, dance, etc
Responsibilities
- Create programs to get Residents involved and excited
- Supervise activities and special events for the Residents
- Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures
