About The Position

This is a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho. It is a flexible position with no guaranteed hours, but may provide up to 40 hours per week. The position does not offer benefits. The Recreation Aid supports recreational programs and facilities by preparing activity areas, coordinating reservations and payments, managing equipment and supplies, and assisting with group activities. The role also operates motor vehicles to transport patrons, staff, and equipment to recreational sites, and helps maintain safe, clean, and orderly facilities.

Requirements

Must possess a valid state driver's license and a clear driving record.
Must complete a favorable pre-employment physical due to the position's physical lifting requirement.
Must complete a background investigation with favorable results.
Must be subject to random drug testing.
Must be able to work shifts that provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures.
No experience is required.
Must meet applicable qualification, eligibility, and background requirements.

Skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

Set up recreation areas for scheduled activities and record attendance.
Take reservations and payments for trips and tours, and notify participants of schedule changes.
Arrange for recreation equipment or tools, issue them to participants, and check their condition upon return.
Stage, load, and unload gear and supplies for scheduled programs.
Operate motor vehicles to transport patrons, staff, and equipment to designated recreational sites.
Issue, clean, and maintain recreation equipment and assist with general facility upkeep.
Check the established safety system of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and areas, tools, and equipment.
Answer inquiries about items, locations, transportation, and other matters related to scheduled activities.
Take inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment.
Assist with group activities that require more than one staff monitor by performing specifically assigned tasks.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
