About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a qualified professional to join the team as the Recovery Treatment Specialist. This position ensures appropriate peer support is provided in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program (RSAT). In addition, this position provides direct peer support services to inmates in the RSAT program by providing services such as: 1:1 mentoring, psycho-educational groups, Whole Health Action Management, and aftercare planning.

  • Collect and maintain data
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports
  • Certified in the State of Arizona as a Recovery Support Specialist
  • Pass a background investigation and a drug test
  • Possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license
  • Complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks
  • Maintain acceptable driving records
  • Complete all required driver training
  • Maintain the statutorily required liability insurance
  • Take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)

Nice To Haves

  • At least three (3) years of experience as a Certified Recovery Support Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct peer support services to inmates in the RSAT program to include one-on-one mentoring, psycho-educational groups, follow-up appointments, and Whole Action Management and aftercare planning
  • Maintains and monitors tracking systems of services rendered, progress notes, and clinical paperwork
  • Coordinates with ADCRR staff, community agencies, contracted mental health providers, and sponsoring agencies to ensure peer support services are provided and maintained
  • Attends meetings and completes special projects
  • Drives on State business
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
