The Recovery Technician follows procedures for chain of custody for individual served valuables placed in the safe, performing inventory checks every time the key for the safe changes hands. This role works to improve or maintain safety at the Recovery Center. The technician maintains the Medication Observation Record (MOR) by facilitating access to and documentation of medication observations consistent with policy. They assist with individual served care management and records progress toward treatment plan objectives using the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The technician will lead and monitor therapeutic groups and leisure and exercise activities, recording in EHR as required. They interact respectfully and in a dignified manner with all individuals served, staff, and visitors. The role includes completing the intake/admission and discharge process, including security/safety checks, conducting searches of individuals served and their belongings for contraband, and entering information into EHR. At admission, they complete an inventory of personal belongings, and at discharge, they review the inventory of personal belongings, obtaining the individual served signature each instance. They explain consents and other documents required for admissions and complete discharges from the bed board as directed by clinicians. The technician explains the Departure Before Treatment Completed form and provides individuals served with Narcan prior to discharge. They obtain consent for ongoing services for individuals served continuing services with CBHC for aftercare, as needed, and obtain and document vital signs. Responsibilities also include maintaining general cleanliness of the unit, laundry, making beds, and infection control routines. The technician redirects individual served(s) behavior in a firm, yet respectful manner, participates in verbal de-escalation, and works as a team to implement Handle with Care (HWC) non-violent interventions to fidelity. They are responsible for maintaining individual served confidentiality (HIPAA and 42-CFR) and monitoring individual served behaviors and interactions.
