About The Position

Recovery Technicians follow procedures for chain of custody for individual served valuables placed in the safe, performing inventory checks every time the key for the safe changes hands. They work to improve or maintain safety at the Recovery Center. They maintain the Medication Observation Record (MOR) by facilitating access to and documentation of medication observations consistent with policy. Recovery Technicians assist with individual served care management and record progress toward treatment plan objectives using the Electronic Health Record (EHR). They lead and monitor therapeutic groups and leisure and exercise activities, and record in EHR as required. They interact respectfully and in a dignified manner with all individual served, staff, visitors, etc. They complete the intake/admission and discharge process, including security/safety checks, conducting searches of individual served and belongings for contraband, and entering information into EHR. At admission, they complete an inventory of personal belongings, and at discharge, they review the inventory of personal belongings, obtaining the individual served signature each instance. They explain consents and other documents required for admissions and complete discharges from the bed board as directed by clinicians. They explain the Departure Before Treatment Completed form and provide individual served with Narcan prior to discharge. They obtain consent for ongoing services for individual served continuing services with CBHC for aftercare, as needed. They obtain and document vital signs. They maintain general cleanliness of the unit, laundry, making beds, and infection control routines. They redirect individual served(s) behavior in a firm, yet respectful manner, participate in verbal de-escalation, and work as a team to implement Handle with Care (HWC) non-violent interventions to fidelity. They are responsible for maintaining individual served confidentiality (HIPAA and 42-CFR). They monitor individual served behaviors and interactions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in behavioral health.
  • Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
  • Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Stamina to stand, walk, sit, and perform tasks for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for documentation.
  • Auditory acuity for verbal interactions whether face-to-face or over the phone.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in all conditions.
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
