About The Position

Join McAlister Institute, a 48-year beacon in San Diego's Recovery Community. The Recovery Specialist plays a vital role in supporting clients in a recovery-focused residential environment. This position works directly with the Program Manager to ensure a safe, structured, and welcoming space while upholding the mission, values, and philosophy of McAlister Institute.

Requirements

• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience.
• Compliance with all agency and contract requirements related to trainings, public health, certifications, and reporting.
• Ability to pass all pre-employment screening, including references, education verification, a criminal background check with at least one year clear of probation or parole, a drug test, and a negative TB test.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.

• Bilingual proficiency is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct drug testing for clients
• Perform daily client room checks and routine hallway monitoring
• Respond to and address client requests in a timely and professional manner
• Transport clients to approved destinations such as hospitals, appointments, or other scheduled activities
• Monitor and oversee scheduled client medications
• Assist counselors and other staff with program duties as requested
