The Recovery Specialist is a treatment team member responsible for providing care to meet the physical and psychological needs of clients through direct and indirect services. This role involves establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with clients, acting as a role model, and documenting client activities and responses to interventions. The position also includes admitting and discharging patients, collecting specimens, obtaining vital signs, assisting clients at mealtime, providing client monitoring (including seclusion and restraint supervision), and assisting in client outings and driving. The Recovery Specialist must observe, record, and report client social, psychiatric, and physical behavior, and participate in client reviews and assessment of care plans. They are expected to explain policies and procedures to clients and families, and demonstrate knowledge of nursing policies and procedures related to direct and indirect client care. The role requires protecting client confidentiality and acting in a professional manner that demonstrates respect for the community when representing Telecare. The Recovery Specialist must also complete and follow through with tasks and assignments by expected deadlines and attend all assigned in-service education classes, modeling excellent professional practice.
