About The Position

We’re looking for a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN who brings both clinical expertise and a calming presence to patients emerging from surgery. If you’re passionate about delivering safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced environment where no two recoveries are the same, you’ll thrive here. As a PACU nurse, you’ll be the first face patients see after surgery—monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and reassuring loved ones—all while collaborating with a tight-knit surgical team. It’s an essential role with meaningful impact every shift.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa required
• Previous experience in acute care preferred
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, and educational needs as patients transition from anesthesia to recovery
• Develop and adapt individualized care plans using strong clinical judgment
• Monitor post-op conditions, respond quickly to changes, and ensure safe discharges
• Educate and support patients and families with clarity and compassion
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to coordinate care
• Stay flexible to support department needs and adapt to evolving healthcare technologies
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and continuous learning opportunities to grow in your role
