About The Position

Vital Health provides integrated treatment for primary care, behavioral health, and substance use disorders for adults and children in Northwest Ohio. Our recovery housing program offers a safe, structured, and recovery-focused living environment for individuals working toward long-term sobriety. We are seeking a Recovery Housing Manager with an active CDCA who understands Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH) standards and is passionate about supporting individuals in early recovery.

Requirements

  • Active CDCA (Certified Chemical Dependency Assistant) credential required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in addiction treatment, recovery housing, behavioral health, or a related setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH) Level II and National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, or housing management experience.
  • Experience supporting individuals with substance use disorders and knowledge of recovery principles, relapse prevention, and recovery-oriented practices.
  • Experience with recovery housing admissions, resident onboarding, discharges, transitions, occupancy, and census management.
  • Experience enforcing housing policies and rules, promoting resident accountability, addressing behavioral concerns, and managing disciplinary processes fairly and consistently.
  • Proficiency in incident reporting, documentation, recordkeeping, and maintaining accurate and confidential resident and operational records.
  • Strong understanding of resident rights, confidentiality, professional boundaries, ethical conduct, and applicable organizational policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, conflict-resolution, de-escalation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced housing environment.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies, behavioral concerns, safety issues, and other situations affecting residents, staff, or property.
  • Ability to oversee property conditions, conduct routine inspections, identify maintenance and safety concerns, and coordinate repairs and services.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, structured, and recovery-focused housing environment that promotes resident stability, accountability, and long-term recovery.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to successfully complete applicable background screenings and employment requirements.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency situations as needed.
  • Strong boundaries and professionalism in a residential setting.
  • Comfortable addressing rule violations and difficult conversations.
  • Organized and strong with documentation.
  • Able to handle crisis situations calmly.
  • Passionate about recovery and helping others succeed.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in behavioral health, human services, housing management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in an ORH-certified or ORH-compliant recovery housing environment preferred.
  • Experience with ORH compliance reviews, certification, or recertification strongly preferred.
