The Heroin Overdose Prevention Education (HOPE) program provides an opportunity for individuals involved with the criminal justice system who are charged with an offense and exhibit substance use to access care and treatment. The long-term goal of the program is to support participants in managing their lives in the community and prevent future arrests and returns to incarceration. The Recovery Counselor serves as a key clinical member of the HOPE program team, providing substance use disorder assessments, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and recovery support services to justice-involved participants. The Recovery Counselor works collaboratively with Senior Peer Mentors, court personnel, and community partners to support participant engagement and continuity of care.
