About The Position

This position requires working towards a Substance Abuse Counseling licensure. The role involves providing assistance to the Office Manager, Therapist, and Counselor to deliver services to individuals, couples, and families of all ages in a culturally sensitive manner.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements.
  • Public Health Core Competencies for this Position: Public Health Sciences, Community Dimensions of Practice, Analysis and Assessment, Leadership and Systems Thinking, Policy Development and Program Planning, Communication and Cultural Competency, Financial Planning and Management.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team.
  • Works with minimal to no supervision.
  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
  • Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
  • All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Recovery staff to assist with groups.
  • Work with the Recovery staff to assist with community outreach, and education.
  • Attend meetings, activities, and trainings.
  • Observe professional standards of confidentiality and demonstrate ethical behavior.
  • Empower families with information and support.
  • Act as a resource to families and community agencies and organizations.
  • Provide outreach and education regarding best practice to physicians and other community providers.
  • Assist parents in communication more effectively with medical personnel and other health providers.
  • Help families by providing support education, access to community resources and facilitating workshops.
  • Facilitate family involvement in supportive and related activities.
  • Maintain assigned client files and generate all needed documentation for those files in an ethical manner.
  • Other administrative duties as designated by the Recovery Director or designee.
