Under direct supervision, provides a broad range of recovery supports and paraprofessional social services to clients self-identifying as being in need of, or seeking recovery from, substance use disorders and potentially the families, friends or allies of clients seeking recovery, on a continuum of care, from the inception of services until discharge. The Recovery Coaching staff will uphold the culture, principle, and values of recovery in all aspects while lending assistance and services to clients through an ongoing, mentoring relationship, to aid these clients who are seeking sustained recovery from alcohol or other drug abuse. This sustained connection builds rapport, relationship, and trust, allowing the Recovery Coach to potentially guide the client into new thought processes, feelings, and behaviors necessary to gain and strengthen recovery. The Recovery Coaching staff will utilize active listening, open-ended questions, will manage personal biases and be willing to share their lived experience with addiction, treatment and recovery with clients who seek long-term recovery from addiction. Additionally, Recovery Coaching staff will act as an advocate for recovery as they strive to build a working relationship with specific and personal knowledge of different pathways to recovery to help clients realize their goals and regain and sustain recovery. The Recovery Coaching staff approach will be client centered, drawing from the strengths of each client being served, and will deliver personalized services addressing the clients needs, experiences, perceived barriers, and goals while creating an ongoing system of social, emotional, instrumental and spiritual support with linkage to community resources. Recovery Coaches will assist with health and wellness, spirituality, employment, education, skills training, family relationships and linkage with community recovery supports. Recovery Coaches also will serve as auxiliary supports to other treatment services provided by clinically licensed personnel.
