About The Position

Over sees day to day functions of All Roads Recovery Center and may perform specialized activities and functions to assist individuals in early recovery by linking them to necessary services needed to help better overcome obstacles in their personal recovery journey.

Requirements

  • The Recovery Center Coordinator will have at least two years of substance use disorder, behavioral health or related experience with persons who inject drugs in a harm reduction setting
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STDs, hepatitis and other blood-borne infections, harm reduction concepts and principles, local substance use disorder and health care services, criminal justice systems and other social service resources
  • Previous experience implementing support groups and training and be a self-directed, motivated, and flexible person with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One year with special populations.
  • Driving record meets insurance standards.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license.
  • NJ or National peer certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily drop-in operations including opening and closing procedures to help ensure Recovery Center and program spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming.
  • Conduct street-level outreach activities for active users in areas or neighborhoods identified as high-risk or high-need within program catchment areas as well as active users who come into the recovery center seeking help.
  • Recruit and engage high-risk, hard to reach people who use drugs or engage in sex work, including injection drug users.
  • Provide substance use and sexual risk assessments and discuss individualized risk reduction and harm reduction strategies including safer injection education, risk reduction strategies around substance use and sexual practices.
  • Provide low-threshold referrals and connect clients with medical care, substance use treatment, and other social services and assist with home inductions, when necessary.
  • Assist with the provision of overdose prevention trainings and Narcan distribution and document incidences of overdose and reversals.
  • Keep accurate, consistent, complete, and intelligible records and data on all program activities and/or clients and provide program director with reports in a timely manner.
  • Provide an evidence-based comprehensive case management assessment, develop care plans, coordinate services, provide referrals and do follow-up, collect and enter admission, treatment and follow-up data.
  • Refer and link clients to community resources (i.e., county welfare and social services, housing, employment and the JBRC Recovery Community Center).
  • Provide guidance to other Recovery Center Staff as needed and upon direction of the Recovery Support Supervisor
