About The Position

This is a paid task in the Kled app, not an employment position. Participants record themselves speaking in a real noisy environment, such as a cafe, street, station, market, or busy kitchen. They read a phrase shown on screen, record it amid the ambient noise, describe the noise, and submit the recording. Accepted recordings must contain real background noise while keeping the speech intelligible. Do not add noise in editing, shout over the noise, or record somewhere quiet while claiming otherwise. Every submission is reviewed, and each upload requires opting in to a commercial training license; accepted submissions are licensed to AI labs.

The task is open worldwide in more than 100 countries and can be completed remotely on the participant’s own schedule, with no interview or minimum hours. Compensation is $0.40 per accepted recording. The posting estimates about one minute per recording (approximately $24 per hour at that pace) and about $8 for a 20-minute session of around 20 recordings. There is a limit of 10 recordings per session. This is piecework as an independent contractor; submissions that violate the rules are not paid. Payouts are made in the app through PayPal, Venmo, or a Solana wallet.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have an iPhone running iOS 18.6 or later; the Kled app is currently iPhone-only.
• Record in a setting with real ambient noise while keeping speech intelligible.
• Create a Kled account, open Tasks, and follow the in-app task instructions.
