About The Position

Mercedes-Benz of Tacoma is seeking a Reconditioning Technician to support our high-volume pre-owned vehicle operation. This is a flat-rate production role focused specifically on used vehicle reconditioning, not general repair work or customer-pay diagnostics. This role is best suited for technicians with prior experience in high-efficiency shop environments or recon-focused workflows.

Requirements

  • Proven flat-rate technician experience required
  • Ability to consistently flag hours in a production environment
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair ability
  • Efficient, detail-oriented work style
  • Team-focused with strong accountability
  • 1 year of automotive experience.
  • ASE certifications are ideal.
  • Strong automotive background
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written.
  • Willing to submit to a drug screen & background check.
  • Must have a clean & valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior reconditioning or high-volume used car experience strongly preferred
  • Speed + accuracy under flat-rate conditions
  • Ability to handle multiple units in workflow
  • Consistent efficiency and output tracking
  • Experience working in structured shop environments

Responsibilities

  • Recondition incoming pre-owned inventory to dealership standards
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on used vehicles
  • Diagnose and correct drivability and safety concerns
  • Complete repairs within production timelines
  • Ensure vehicles are front-line ready for retail sale
