Following a recent Series A financing, the company has raised $100M in total equity and debt funding and is rapidly growing, seeking exceptional talent to join its mission. The NorCal hub is the next major market, and this role is a ground-floor opportunity. As the Reconditioning Manager for the NorCal market, you will be responsible for owning reconditioning operations. This includes building the workflow, managing the operational floor, developing the team, and upholding quality standards. This is a role focused on building and scaling operations, where the playbook developed will serve as a template for future expansion.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing operations in automotive, recon, or lean manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes from scratch.
  • Experience developing frontline teams, with a clear understanding of managing versus coaching.
  • Fluency in lean principles, with practical experience running kaizen events.
  • Strong analytical instincts, using data to drive decisions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends during the launch phase.
  • Physically able to work in an active shop environment (standing, lifting up to 40 lbs, PPE use required).

Nice To Haves

  • EV-specific experience (OEM not required).
  • Background launching a new site or market from zero.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled ops tools or eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Build and run day-to-day recon operations, hitting throughput, quality, and cost targets consistently.
  • Develop and maintain a quality standard that reflects the Ever brand.
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of technicians and leads, building career paths.
  • Create and iterate on SOPs from the ground up, documenting effective processes and discontinuing ineffective ones.
  • Own production planning and capacity management as volume scales.
  • Drive continuous improvement through structured problem-solving.
  • Enforce health, safety, and compliance standards without compromise.
  • Report on key metrics and flag risks early.
  • Own the active work queue end-to-end, understanding the status of every unit.
  • Manage WIP limits per stage to prevent bottlenecks and avoid aging inventory.
  • Maintain accurate handoff documentation at every pipeline stage (ingress, inspect, repair, detail, photo).
  • Hold hard SLA windows for vendor scheduling and proactively escalate stalled units.
  • Build and run a structured onboarding and certification path for technicians and service advisors.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and provide competency-based feedback.
  • Identify skill gaps on the floor and address them with targeted coaching.
  • Create progression paths for technicians to encourage retention and growth.
  • Train Service Advisors on documentation standards, customer-facing communication, and handoff ownership.
  • Recognize performance publicly and address performance gaps directly to build a culture of accountability.
