This body shop role will aid with shop vehicle movements and parts inventory placement. The role functions as a Body Shop Porter and Floor Assistant. The specialist will ensure all required equipment is ready and in proper working condition. They will conduct presale walks to identify missing vehicles, overflow areas, inoperable vehicles and any other lane changes. The role ensures vehicles within assigned lanes are parked and ready for sale in a timely manner. The specialist will maintain the run list indicating vehicles with no keys, late vehicle entries, and/or late number changes. They will coordinate and monitor re-runs or vehicles ran out of sequence. The role involves handling customer and dealer inquiries and concerns. A pre-sale meeting with drivers is conducted to identify driver return routes, overflow areas, and other changes in the lane. The specialist oversees lane coordination to maintain the continuous flow of traffic to the block. They direct traffic and work with the supervisor to reassign drivers as needed to ensure smooth operational flow. The role monitors traffic, identifying potential traffic blockages and stalled vehicles. The specialist directs drivers on vehicle assignments and oversees parking sold vehicles and re-parking non-sold vehicles. They report theft, lot damage, or any safety concerns to management. The role involves pulling and maintaining keys for any unsafe vehicles and reporting to management immediately. The specialist visibly demonstrates safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. They actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence. Other duties as assigned by management. Should have body shop prior experience with a goal of filling rolls within the shop in the future.
