About The Position

Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI) is a leading global credit investor with a diverse portfolio including private investment grade, asset-based lending, public investment grade, high yield, sustainable resources, infrastructure debt, collateralized loan obligations, direct lending, and opportunistic credit. BXCI aims to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns for institutional and individual investors and provides capital for company growth. BXCI also offers investment management services to insurers, utilizing expertise in investment-grade private credit. The BXCI Reconciliation team is crucial for supporting and expanding BXCI's businesses by reconciling cash and assets with custodians, trustees, and agents, identifying risks and inefficiencies, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the firm’s financial records. The Vice President of Reconciliation will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the firm's reconciliation framework, focusing on automation, risk management, governance, and performance tracking. This role offers a significant opportunity to contribute to BXCI's mission by enhancing operational controls and promoting a culture of risk and control awareness.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry with direct experience in reconciliation processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of credit and insurance products.
  • A university degree in business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization, including process owners, corporate functions, internal auditors, and senior management.
  • A strong team player who is receptive to listening, understanding, and collaborating with senior management when introducing new ideas or change recommendations.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, implementation, and change management of the firm’s automated reconciliation platform.
  • Assist in designing and implementing enhanced completeness controls and measures.
  • Identify gaps and inconsistencies in key reconciliation processes and develop and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams to create training materials to improve performance and capabilities.
  • Design and implement automated measures for tracking key risks and identifying inefficiencies.
  • Manage the coordination of regular audit and quality assurance testing, and lead efforts to address related findings.
  • Identify opportunities for control and efficiency improvements across various reconciliation tasks and processes.
  • Lead the creation and development of risk and control-related presentation materials for governance forums.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business units, risk management, offshore teams, and senior leadership.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with the business.
  • Undertake special projects and additional duties as required.
