About The Position

The Recon Technician at Hendrick Luxury Collision Center is responsible for repairing dents and painting parts on customer vehicles after body repair work is complete, adhering to Collision Center guidelines. This role involves examining body damage, identifying necessary repairs, estimating costs, requesting parts and materials, and performing efficient body repairs and paint jobs according to company and insurance company standards. The technician is also expected to maintain customer satisfaction (CSI) standards, keep an organized, clean, and safe work area, participate in required training, accurately record hours, and comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge of body repair methods
  • Collision Center repair training or commensurate experience
  • Ability to operate equipment necessary to perform Collision Center repair functions
  • Previous experience in Collision Center Paint
  • Ability to operate equipment to perform painting functions
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to understand and follow technical manuals
  • Ability to stand
  • Ability to walk
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Responsibilities

  • Examines body damage on customer vehicles
  • Identifies necessary body repair work
  • Estimates cost of body work
  • Requests necessary parts
  • Performs body repairs including removing damaged body parts and replacing with fixed or new parts
  • Documents repairs performed
  • Performs body repairs efficiently and according to Collision Center and insurance company guidelines
  • Applies paint to vehicle parts after repair work is complete
  • Covers vehicle parts that do not require painting
  • Buffs or cleans surfaces after paint dries
  • Requests necessary materials
  • Performs paint jobs efficiently and according to Collision Center guidelines
  • Maintains CSI at or above Company standards
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
  • Participates in required training
  • Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations
  • Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values
  • Complies with Company policies and procedures
  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties
