About The Position

The Recipient Services Representative will ensure that all Benefit Recipients receive extraordinary service when making changes to pensions. This role requires accurate and timely entry of all necessary change, correction, stoppage, or resumption information. The representative will communicate sympathetically and efficiently with recipients via phone or mail.

Requirements

  • Proficient data entry skills.
  • Experience in customer support.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in banking and customer service.
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Strong mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process direct deposit, tax information, change of address, and verification requests.
  • Manage pensioner status forms and bank advice.
  • Handle expiration reports, confirm queues, stop/void, and reissue check requests.
  • Process recipient death certificates, pop-ups, and return to trade.
  • Remove and restore benefit recipients to pension rolls.
  • Address overpayments and coordinate with the accounting department for returned pension checks.
  • Prepare correspondence related to collection processes for electronic filing.
  • Communicate with pension recipients and banks to establish repayment agreements and send collection letters.
  • Update pension benefit information using internet resources and Accurint.
  • Prepare documentation for fraud or forgery claims.
  • Maintain records of pension overpayments in Excel.
  • Assist in recouping federal income tax overpayments and in responding to 1099 inquiries.
  • Create binbooks and custom letters related to these functions.
