About The Position

A HUD Recertification Specialist manages the annual and interim re-examination process for residents in HUD-assisted housing, verifying income, assets, and household composition to ensure continued eligibility and compliance with federal regulations. They handle documentation, calculate tenant rent, and maintain accurate records for programs like
Section 8 and LIHTC.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED equivalency.
• Experience: Three+ years of low-income, senior, or housing-related programs
• Certification: COS for HUD programs.
• Ability to accurately and consistently maintain logs and write reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Yardi/Voyager software is helpful.
• Bilingual helpful — Spanish
• Property Manager Software, especially Yardi is a plus

Responsibilities

• Compliance & Documentation: Review tenant files for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HUD, LIHTC, or local housing regulations.
• Income/Asset Verification: Calculate household income, assets, and expenses to determine rent, processing annual and interim recertifications.
• Resident Interaction: Notify residents of upcoming recertifications, collect necessary documentation, and answer questions regarding the process.
• Reporting & Systems: Maintain updated records, often using software like Yardi or Voyager, and generate compliance reports for management.
• Process all required annual income certifications as per HUD and LIHTC regulations at multiple properties
