About The Position

LSA Management is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Recertification Specialist to join our affordable housing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing annual and interim recertifications for both Section 8 (HUD) and LIHTC programs while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and program requirements. The ideal candidate possesses strong affordable housing compliance knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent resident service. This position plays a vital role in supporting property operations, maintaining program compliance, and fostering positive resident relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Section 8/HUD recertification experience required.
  • Minimum 1 year of LIHTC experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of affordable housing compliance, HUD regulations, and LIHTC program requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and file review capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and resident-focused service.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using OneSite, EIV, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct resident interviews and collect required documentation to accurately prepare annual and interim recertifications.
  • Process and complete Section 8 (HUD) and LIHTC recertifications in accordance with federal regulations and established deadlines.
  • Utilize OneSite, EIV, The Work Number, and Microsoft Office Suite to complete verification and compliance activities.
  • Review income, assets, and household information to ensure accurate eligibility determinations.
  • Maintain complete, organized, and audit-ready resident files and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, HUD requirements, LIHTC guidelines, and company policies.
  • Monitor recertification schedules and proactively manage deadlines to ensure timely completion.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding workload, compliance concerns, and assigned responsibilities.
  • Provide professional and courteous service while working directly with residents throughout the recertification process.
  • Assist with compliance reviews, audits, and special projects as needed.
