About The Position

The Receptionist at The Residence at Selleck's Woods promotes the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living. This role is crucial in growing community occupancy by positively representing the residence to potential residents, family members, and professionals. The receptionist handles all incoming telephone calls and greets guests and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, directing them accordingly. Key responsibilities include maintaining the front desk, managing mail, recording guest meal charges, filing correspondence and resident safety sheets, and coordinating front desk activities. The receptionist must also respond to emergency situations by contacting the appropriate parties and attend required in-service training sessions and orientations. A courteous response to resident needs and regular updates to the communication log book are also expected. The role involves maintaining community brochures and ensuring they are stocked.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic telephone reception systems and techniques.
  • Ability to handle all incoming telephone calls and visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner.
  • Ability to provide clerical support.
  • Ability to represent the residence in a professional manner.
  • Ability to respond calmly to emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
  • Focused and dedicated to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and completely.
  • Six months to one-year prior reception experience in an office environment.
  • Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.
  • Visual and auditory acuity.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs. and be able to carry objects.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts.
  • Must be able to continuously walk, sit and stand.
  • Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
  • Must use good body mechanics.
  • Must be able to type and use a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Typing or word processing experience is preferred.

  • Respond to emergency situations by contacting appropriate party; 911, fire department, police etc.
  • Attend required in-service training sessions and orientations.
  • Respond to residents needs in a courteous manner.
  • Update the communication log book on a regular basis.
  • Maintain community brochures and stock.
